Moments with Shirin

The people who love her are collecting moments we remember with her.

2 days until the first one lands on her birthday, October 4th. There's still time to be in it.

156 moments from 61 people, and counting

Friends and family are writing down small moments with Shirin, the kind she might not even remember. Each one gets illustrated. A few land every day, for weeks.

How it works

1

A link arrives

I'll send you a private link.

2

You get drawn

Upload two photos of your face and I'll turn them into a portrait, so a drawing of you shows up in every illustration.

3

You pick a prompt

She changed how you see things, she made you laugh, she understood you. Each one is just a place to start.

4

You write, I get it drawn

A couple of questions first, then you write it the way you'd say it out loud, and tell me what you want drawn.

5

Shirin opens it

A few land each day, starting October 4th. Every day, a reminder of how appreciated Shirin is.

What a moment looks like

A few examples. Everything else stays between the writer and Shirin.

A fond memory

In the jungle in Mexico the white van got stuck in the mud at night we stood in the rain with cellphone flashlights

A small thing she did

We were on a trip with Eric in the Slim Roller exploring Utah…Zion, Arches, Canyonlands, and Moab. One afternoon you made us all sandwiches for lunch and we ate in the Slim Roller. What stood out to me was that you had made the effort to add cucumbers to the sandwiches. A small detail that I have not forgotten that I often consider when I think about how I want to treat others.

Anything else

You made me feel so incredibly special and happy when we were on the dance floor, just the two of us.
